Waiting, But with Hope!

We are still waiting for Luis to get to a point that we can take him home. He is making slow continual progress. It was a great day yesterday to see him move down to getting much less breathing assistance. He no longer needs any kind of machine of special mixing apparatus but is only getting a mix of air and oxygen from the hospital wall.

Cornelius got a visit from his siblings on Sunday. They each took turns holding him and were excited to see us.

In addition to him being taken off of a lot of the breathing support, he also was able to have his IV removed. He is eating mostly by bottle now, some still through a feeding tube in his nose, which is much nicer than the one that was in his mouth. Today Sarah was able to start trying to breastfeeding which went well but short. We hope he will over the next few days grow into only breastfeeding.

It is awesome to be able to walk around the room holding him unencumbered by so many wires and tubes.  The doctor said today that we are working towards a Friday discharge. Praise the Lord! we have a date that we can look forward to. We know that God is in control and will have us here as long He needs us here. We know that God will decide whether that will be Friday, or possibly sooner, or possibly later. Please continue to pray for us here For the healing of Cornelius and for our witness here.
